Hi guys,

So I decided to do a list of my favorite TV series of the millennium. I had a long list to choose from but here’s my best of the best:

1. Game of Thrones — A timeless production which will go down in history as one of the best novel adaptations ever. Created by George R.R Martin and with an ensemble cast of over 200 actors and actresses including Peter Dinklage, Kit Harrington, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke. Set in medieval times, it follows the stories of different families who are fighting for a seat on the Iron throne. Anyone who sits on it rules the seven kingdoms, which is literally the world. Game of Thrones requires a lot of commitment and is so unpredictable that you get scared that they’re going to kill off a character soon enough but in the end is totally worth it.

I’ll rate it 9 out of 10.

2. Avatar: The last air-bender — I never would have thought that I’d be so engrossed with an animated TV series as I was with Avatar. It’s a family show that’s full of sarcasm and humor which made it more enjoyable. Human civilization is divided into 4 nations (earth, air, water and fire) and in each of these nations, some select people have the ability to control these elements by bending them to their will. The Avatar is the only person who has the ability to master all the 4 elements and is expected to use this ability to maintain peace and unity in the world. Fire Lord Ozai has declared war with the other three nations and it is up to Avatar Aang and his friends (Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko) to help with his quest to restore peace back to the world.

I’ll rate it 9 out of 10.

3. Stranger Things — What happens when scientific research is done into the paranormal and supernatural using human subjects, strange things but when these activities manifest into our world, even stranger things happen. Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the early 1980s, a boy named Will is abducted by a creature which arises as a result of the experiments. Simultaneously, a human subject with superpowers named Eleven escapes from the laboratory and ends up assisting Will’s friends to find him. Stranger things is irresistibly appealing and makes you wish you were born in the 80s. Full of horror and mystery, the show is definitely a must-watch for everyone. Winona Ryder plays Will’s mom and David Harbour plays the Chief of Hawkins Police Department.

I’ll rate it 9 out of 10.

4. Downton Abbey — While some people may think that watching a British TV show set in the early 1900s may be a waste of time, Downton Abbey is an absolute delight to watch. The sophistication of the characters, the costumes, the drama would make you wish you were alive to witness that time in history. It tells of the lives of Lord Grantham (played by Hugh Bonneville) and his family alongside his domestic servants and how the great events in history at the time which include the sinking of the Titanic, the Second World War, the Spanish Influenza among others affected and altered their lives and the society. Dame Maggie Smith plays Lord Grantham’s mother and Elizabeth McGovern plays Lord Grantham’s wife. If you love drama and you’re very patient then this series is for you. I guarantee that it is a wonderful experience.

I’ll rate it 8 out of 10.

5. The Sopranos — If you liked Scarface, The Godfather trilogy and The Departed, then The Sopranos should be your go-to crime TV show. With a riveting performance by James Gandolfini, we see how Tony Soprano played by Gandolfini tries to balance his home life and criminal organization. This show is full of drama, dark humor and the kind of depth you would not normally see in any series. If you are not a fan of mob drama, the sopranos is sure to change your mind.

I’ll rate it 9 out of 10.
